Mish | Music To Our Ears ~ Mark Ronson Ft Bruno Mars

Driving back from a late night of volunteering and feeling exhausted after running around all day. The DJ introduced this new song from two of my favourite artists and I actually drove the long way home to hear the song in full. Gotta love a bit of funk!

Tori & Mish ~ Taking care of Business

Hello Everyone!

It feels like only yesterday we said we were back however life isn't always so simple, especially when Mish's laptop screen decided to turn blue. Fearing the Microsoft Blue Screen of Death her pride and joy was rushed to the I.T specialists and thankfully it was only a loose wire connection. Phew!
Our cameras are also not playing ball either and when both bloggers writing styles is get the photos first then write, this can cause problems.

However let us not dwell on such horror stories. December is nearly upon us and we have lots of exciting new posts for everyone. Expect some fantastic new beauty reviews, more Jute, Jam and Joy adventures, and a massive sprinkling of Christmas cheer! We also hope to show you some Christmas themed food and drink recipes so keep your eyes peeled for that.

So what has everyone been up to recently? Are we all excited for Christmas, or is it still to early for people? Let us know we love reading your comments.

And now to bring a little class to the whole laptop debacle. Enjoy.

Mish | Bonfire Night 2014

"Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot..."
On a cold and crisp 5th November my mother and I trudged up to our local park to go and see the annual Bonfire Night Fireworks display. Hosted by Dundee City Council there are two events held in Dundee covering both side of the city and this was my first time at the event in my local area.

Bonfire night or Guy Fawkes Night is a truly peculiar and British tradition. It celebrates the failed attempt by Guido Fawkes (amongst others) an English Catholic who attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament in 1605 in order to kill King James I and replace him with a Catholic King. The religious aspect has completely vanished from today's celebrations and has now turned into a fun filled family event. Next year marks the 500 anniversary of the gunpowder plot so hopefully the councils across the nation will bring there A game to the proceedings.

After making some insane parking skills (the streets were mobbed) we soon joined the mass of people walking to the park and found ourselves a nice spot on a little hill. Radio Tay started the countdown and we were off! I couldn't get a good photo of the bonfire as we were too far away and by the time we got down to the front it was being put out :(

Bonfire night has always been a family occasion. We were standing beside twin boys who screamed with utter joy every time a firework went off which just reminded me how wonderful events like these are, seeing groups of family writing their names with sparklers, bonfire night really is something for the masses.

Just to let you in a little secret, it's blimmin hard to take photos of fireworks! Kudos to anybody who does it professionally (Professional firework photographer...is that such a thing??)

Hope you had a lovely Bonfire Night if you celebrate it.
Does anybody else celebrate an event only known in their country? Leave us a comment below we love hearing from you all!

Tori & Mish | MUSIC TO OUR EARS

Hello Everyone!
It's been a while so we thought we ease ourselves back in with a new Music to our Ears post

Last Friday we both attended the Dundee Christmas Lights switch on and decided to drive and get a cheeky wee MacDonald's after the festivities. Sitting in the car eating our "meals" this song floated through the car speakers. As we have said before some songs just make your world a better place as soon as you hear them and frankly anything Elton John sings is always a winner with us.
