Tori: MTTM Yankee candle edit!

Hello lovelies. It's been a while since I did a Money's Too Tight to Mention post and I've really missed them. So to ease myself back into regular blogging, here's my November favourites (Yankee Candle edition). I buy all of these candles in sampler/ votive size and they retail for around £1.80 on Yankee's website. The perfect price for a little treat!

1. Fireside Treats- this has featured in one of posts already but it's still a firm favourite and I've repurchased it. I described it as smelling like toasted marshmallows on speed. Pretty much sums it up!
2. Pineapple Cilantro- sweet yet not at all sickly. This is a very green, fresh smelling pineapple scent. Absolutely beautiful and very uplifting. Highly recommend!
3. Christmas Cookie has an incredibly intense, sweet scent. Buttery and rich, it can scent the whole room unlit.
4. Snowflake Cookie- this is a little more mellow than big sister scent Christmas Cookie. Beautiful girlie pink colour and not too sickly, I loved falling asleep with this scent filling the room. Pink, subtly spiced, vanilla heaven.
5. Strawberry Buttercream is a staple in my bathroom. It doesn't just smell like strawberries and cream, oh no, this has an incredibly rich and heavy fruity buttercream scent that sooths my soul. This would be perfect all year round but I've found ultra sweet scents to be incredibly comforting as Autumn has slipped into Winter.

Tori | October Sunday No. 2

 

It's been a while since I did a Money's Too Tight To Mention post but I've been craving home comforts and little luxuries. Here's my round up of Sunday indulgences which won't break the bank...

 

 

• Arrange some budget friendly flowers with the help of your pets. I picked up these alstroemeria from Morrisons for only £2 a bunch.



 

• Jot down your thoughts in a 'line a day' journal, £10.99 from Waterstones. It helps if you write with gorgeous pencils like these however, if Kate Spade's offering is way out of your budget, try Paperchase for less expensive yet indulgent writing tools such as these. Good news, the lovely pencil case pictured below was only £2 from ASDA.
• Head out and forage for free catalogues from your favourite shops. Pick up some paint swatches while you're at it and indulge yourself in an afternoon of browsing, circling and tearing out. This is the ultimate window shopping experience, it's pure fantasy, so browse away guilt free!

So there you have it, how do you spend your Sunday when you're on a budget?

Tori | MTTM #1 mint

 

 

Welcome to the first in the series of MONEY'S TOO TIGHT TO MENTION (MTTM). Yay!

Choosing the theme for this week's picks wasn't particularly tricky, if you read my previous post on decorating my room, you'll know why! Here's a recap: ever since I painted my room minty-greeny-blue, I haven’t been able to shake thoughts of everything and anything mint.

So if you, like me, fantasise about mint, (morning, noon and night) this list is for you! Fellow minternutters (see what I did there- laaaame), behold a veritable feast of beautiful bits and bobs, all minty and all for £5 or under. Enjoy!

1.      Mint bow necklace from iloveyoujewels, Etsy, £4.84. See also, the matching brooch and their gorgeous, pastel mint bow necklace.  

2.      Mavala Mini Colour Nail Polish Blue Mint 5ml, Boots, £4.75. I adore this colour as it is leans more towards the duck-eggy end of the minty spectrum.

3.      If you prefer to pack a more powerful punch, check out Mavala’s stunning Blue Lagoon, Boots, £4.75. Mavala is an oldie but a goodie, I can remember receiving a pack of these eenie-weenie polishes from an auntie who lives down south, I was about eight and thought they were ugly bottles. Nowadays I really rate the formulation and it’s better value for money as they don’t dry up or go goopy before you’ve had your money’s worth!

4.      Mint handmade journal: FYEO for your eyes only, isavirtue, Etsy, £3.63. I love notebooks, any stationery for that matter, always have done. If you do too, type 'mint green notebook' into Etsy and get ready to feel orgasmic.

5.       Pick up this cute-as-can-be mint table lamp, for £5, next time you pop into ASDA! It'll brighten up a dingy, unloved corner, in an instant.
